Maintenance Tech 5 Lead

(Pay Grade 69)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicant must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Applicant should be able to read and understand blueprints. Experience in maintenance and repair of a wide variety of construction materials including but not limited to asbestos containing materials, sheetrock, cinder block, brick, wood framing, lead paint, concrete, plywood, VCT and ceramic tile. Knowledge of Electric and Plumbing Best Practices. Must have an understanding of government regulations protecting safety, health and rights of employees and the public (including but not limited to asbestos, hazardous chemicals, access to buildings by the handicapped and playground safety). Communicate effectively with all members of the school district. Applicant must possess and maintain a valid North Carolina Driver’s License.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must be willing to assign any license(s), possessed or obtained, to the school district if needed to comply with local or state regulations
• Complete assignments in a timely and safe manner
• Plans and design projects for presentation to supervisor with cost analysis and time schedule
• Provide direction to other techs on the team to accomplish specific tasks if needed
• Draw sketches fortechs to follow in repair and/or installation jobs
• Leads the other techs in the maintenance and repair of any building in use within the system
• Makes inspections to diagnose and evaluate construction needs
• Submits cost estimates for the amount of materials and labor necessary for certain projects
• Reviews work of outside contractors for adherence to plans and specifications
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work alone or with other associates to complete assigned tasks
• Available to coordinate work orders with personnel
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and communications with maintenance employees, school staff, parents and others
• Requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. Must be adaptable to performing under stress and when confronted with emergency situations
• Responabole for the completion of all Work orders in there Area in all trades.
