The Design Engineer is responsible for the design and engineering of installed audiovisual systems for the Majic Productions Integration department. The Design Engineer will coordinate project vision based on the project scope and budget provided by the sales or account representative. 

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight of a project from conception through installation and completion
• Review hour estimation for work based on needs analysis, scope of work, and bid requirements
• Develop engineering and architectural (RCP/Floor Plan, Schematics) drawings, calculations, acoustical modeling, lighting modeling, & projection modeling
• Understand various architectural and schematic drawings
• MEP coordination documentation for bid & construction
• CAD drafting and engineering of needed AV infrastructure
• Schematic wiring diagrams of system deployment
• Project manual creation for general contractor
• As built document generation upon project completion
• Ensure system functionality and compatibility prior to the job being installed
• Ensure the products specified fulfill the project scope
• Responsible for completing systems integration projects on time, on budget, and achieving high customer satisfaction from our customers
• The majority of this employee's time will be spent managing projects and communicating with customers 
• Assume ownership of individual projects and assignments 
• Develop and communicate project updates weekly or as required 
• Provide technical support to project team members
• Coordinate all drawings and documentation between the office and the field 
• Facilitate and direct design reviews with the sales and project management team prior to on-site installation 

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of working in commercial audiovisual installation field 
• Familiarity with audio, video lighting, and control systems 
• Crestron, AMX, QSYS, Extron or Kramer certifications preferred
• Knowledgeable of low-voltage electrical concepts
• Ability to read and understand drawings including architectural plans, electrical drawings, and low-voltage schematics
• D-tools experience preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Supervisory and people skills
• A high school degree or general education equivalent is required
• Ability to travel for installations across the USA and abroad
• Possess a current driver’s license
