Job Title Instrumentation & Electrical Supervisor Requisition JR000014146 Instrumentation & Electrical Supervisor (Open) Location Raleigh, NC (Pharma) - USA033 Additional Locations Raleigh, NC Job Description ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provides leadership to maintenance I&E technicians. Work with the maintenance team to proactively identify safety and quality issues and proactively address concerns. Knowledgeable in instrumentation, smart devices, calibrations, control valves, wiring, scales, process control systems, automation, motors & motor control centers, etc. typically found in chemical plant operations. Supervises/coordinates maintenance resources based on the maintenance and production needs, both routine and emergency. Leads shutdown planning in effort to coordinate both internal and external maintenance resources based on maintenance planners and project engineering needs. Completes formal quarterly performance reviews with the hourly (I&E) maintenance staff. Provides individual coaching and performance discussions as needed. Assists in conducting morning/safety meetings, offers guidance for corrective action to housekeeping concerns, and ensures employees are following all plant desginated safety rules. Interfaces routinely with outside resources for technical support as needed to acquire materials and documentation for efficient execution of maintenance activities. Oversees maintenance training program in conjuction with Lead mechanics / technicians and engineers. Provides information for the CMMS as needed for the site. Ensures that mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation repairs to facility equipment are completed safely and in an effective manner based on SOPs, work instructions, and vendor recommendations. Ensures that all required information is entered on work orders and that spare parts inventory is controlled per plant standards. Proven to consistently demonstrate strong leadership skills as well as positive influence in safety, environmental, quality, productivity, and people development. Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Maximo. DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/ OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation. Participate in and lead Kaizen events in support of the development of a sustainable Lean culture. The Maintenance I&E Supervisor should have knowledge of chemical plant production equipment. Duties require that the Supervisor have a good understanding of the tools, materials and equipment used in routine repairs and modifications to production equipment. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education required/ preferred: High School Diploma/ BS degree in technical discipline (ME, EE, ChE, etc.). Experience: Minimum 3-5 years supervision and/or 5-10 years industrial maintenance experience. Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Lean, TPM, OEE, PM evaluation, Six Sigma, Planning and Scheduling, RCA Skills/Competencies: CMMS experience. Other Skills: Strong leadership skills. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE: Supervises, coaches, mentors, and provides leadership to maintenance I&E mechanics. Reports to the Maintenance and Reliability Manager WORKING CONDITIONS: Office work, hands on work in the field, computer work, minimal travel. Required to work in all areas of the plant site, both inside and outside. There may be exposure to warm/cold areas, dirt, oil, grease, chemicals/chemical fumes, and noise. Must use appropriate personal protective equipment required to manage the risk of work being performed at all times. May lift and carry objects of 50 pounds or less in weight. Must be able to go up and down flights of stairs on occasion. May be required to assist in effort to remove control valves, loosen bolts, or move controls and instrumentations.
