Mechanical Engineer
Location: RT 156, Rope Ferry Road, Waterford, CT, USA 06385
Position Overview: We are seeking technically proficient engineers to assist with schematic reviews, project oversight, and mentoring of less experienced engineers. The role involves project scoping, maintenance/procedural reviews, and troubleshooting efforts. The ideal candidate will have experience in the nuclear industry, particularly with Dominion Energy.
Key Responsibilities

• Obtain Dominion Energy Mechanical Engineering Qualifications.
• Collaborate with the application-specific engineering team to understand different system functions and requirements.
• Review and approve mechanical engineering plans developed by equipment vendors.
• Gain a thorough understanding of application requirements driven by design specifications, regulatory requirements, and software/hardware requirements with assistance from the requirements lead engineer.
• Report activity status and communicate effectively with all levels of ownership and leadership.

Required Skills

• Mechanical Engineering Fundamentals, particularly in drawings review.
• Initiative and ability to work independently.
• Strong technical writing skills.

Top Required Experience

• 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Basic knowledge of engineering theories and principles.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical writing.
• Proficiency in personal computer skills.
• Analytical thinking and complex problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to interpret codes, regulations, and practices.
• Effective in both independent and team environments.
• Proven decision-making skills.
• Ability to process information quickly and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.

Preferred Industry Experience

• Nuclear industry experience.
• Experience with Dominion Energy.
