Job Title: Director of Information Technology (reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer)

We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Director of Information Technology to join our industry-leading client, a privately-held plastics manufacturer.

The Director of Information Technology will provide leadership, direction, and support of best data management practice which aligns and delivers on the organization's strategies. This person will oversee and provide consultation to leadership for all IT operations to meet customer requirements as well as the support and maintenance of existing applications and development of new technical solutions. In addition, the Director will always be watching security and technology trends to apply them to the organization to help improve business functions. The focus in the first 18-24 months will be to lead the organization through the implementation of a new ERP solution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

•Directs the evolution of the enterprise application and technical architecture functions, providing coordination across the business, information, technical, and architectural solutions.

•Leads the identification and analysis of enterprise business drivers to develop enterprise application architecture requirements, including data architecture, application security authentication, integration architecture, and documentation of architecture solutions and landscapes.

•Analyzes business requirements across departments to determine technology needs that directly align with the Company's strategic priorities.

•Develop departmental goals that align with organizational strategies that establish consistent and reusable technological infrastructures from an approved technology list.

•Responsible for IT research and development, analyzing technology, industry, and market trends to determine potential impacts to and opportunities for the organization in the areas of emerging or new technologies.

•Oversees enterprise application architecture implementation activities to reduce costs and improve efficiencies (e.g., consolidation, platform retirements, etc.).

•Serves as the technical authority, subject matter expert, and point of escalation for IT on complex architectural and development issues.

•Works closely with the internal and external technical teams to drive continuous improvement and efficiency.

•Develop ROI analysis to help justify and maximize business and IT investments.

•Ensures that solutions and services deliver at or above expected business value.

•Provide clear and consistent communication to Sr. leadership and ensure technical solutions align with organizational strategies.

•Expands adoption of existing technology, where appropriate, to leverage enterprise solutions that meet or exceed business-partner demands.

•Proactively advises on technology options, upgrades, and innovation for the business.

•Educate business stakeholders on relevant technology capabilities to enable better IT solutions.

•Participate in the organization's annual strategic management planning process including providing input and recommendations on telecommunications and database portions of the plan and cost-benefit analysis

•Participate as a member of the Management Review Team; communicate outcomes to sublevels when needed; carry out actions as needed

•Assess the training needs of personnel and provide HR with suggestions and/or assistance in making provisions for the completion of the training

•Participate in job-related training, in-house training, and position certifications

•Other duties or responsibilities as assigned

HR Responsibilities:

•Supervises, hires and ensures training of employees across the IT Department.

•Creates staff's professional development plans that include certifications and education on staff network security.

•Assess the training needs of systems personnel and provide HR with suggestions and/or assistance in making provisions for the completion of the training

•Participate in job-related training, in-house training, and position certifications

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Required: 2 years Technical, High School Diploma
  • Preferred: BS in Computer Technology

Experience:

  • Required: 5 years of work experience in IT development and architecture.
  • Preferred: 5 years of work experience in IT development and architecture with leadership experience managing cross-technology teams or projects and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Well-rounded with the implementation of Cloud and in-house technology platforms.
  • Demonstrated abilities with ERP technical architecture from project inception through implementation and transition to support.
  • Experience in requirements gathering, technical setup, and implementation of at least one full ERP project from inception to implementation as well as leading complex ERP initiatives with positive results, preferably with INFOR Syteline.
  • Experience integrating with external systems.
  • Able to implement new technologies and innovation in existing technologies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data migration strategies and tools.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, and oral/written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing a team and managing across cross-functional boundaries.
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, goal-oriented, and Innovative.
  • The ideal candidate is never satisfied with the status quo... always looking for the next best way to do it.
  • Must be goal and organizationally-oriented.
