The Event Technician III part time permanent will work up to 29 hours a week in a part time position supporting a variety of events and maintenance needs located at the Bradenton Area Convention Center (Palmetto FL), the Powel Crosley Estate (Sarasota, FL), or the Premier Sports Campus (Lakewood Ranch, FL). You will help set up and prepare for events.
To perform detail-oriented, technical and physical duties associated with events (prior to, during and after) and serve in a leadership capacity. Position requires a flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Working Conditions
Indoors/outdoors; high noise environment, Hands On objects, tools, or Controls, Hazardous equipment, standing, lifting, carrying objects up to 50 lbs. alone, 100 with assistance. Overnight assignments.
Job Description
Essential Functions
These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position.

Takes direction from regular staff (Facility Management or Manager on Duty) and lead a crew with varying experience levels to complete layouts in an efficient, timely manner correctly according to their drawing and written instructions.
This is a hands-on position that will direct the following: setting up and tearing down of equipment for events; cleaning the facility; maintaining equipment; cleaning and maintaining the facility grounds; parking operations.
Specific duties may include but are not limited to directing and/or the actual set up of tables, chairs, risers, stage, basketball court, audio and other equipment; vacuuming, sweeping, cleaning and directing parking.
May work any shift in various, including overnights and are able to work when full-time regular staff is not present. On occasion, may supervise small or simple events.
Regularly utilizes computer and software programs such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook Email, etc., to accomplish and/or document specific aspects of assignments.
Communicates clearly, fluent in English, effectively and tactfully, orally and in writing, including understanding and following instructions, procedures, etc.
Must know emergency procedure in case of work accidents or other situations that may occur.
Regularly required to work other than normal business hours including nights, holidays, and weekends.
Minimum Qualifications
Completion of 10th grade, must be 18 years of age.
Minimum six months experience in a special events setting related to tear-down and setup for events and experience in performing maintenance duties in a facility in which such events occur.
Valid driver's license required with valid Florida driver license required within 30 days of hire.

Familiarity with small power tools and equipment used in set-ups and tear-downs associated with events desired.
Familiarity with electricity and plumbing concepts and maintenance desired.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of work hazards and applicable safety precautions associated with materials and equipment used in work performed.
Ability to effectively serve in a lead capacity and work effectively with others (including the general public.)
Ability to perform physical movements necessary for job assigned, i. e., bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching, climbing, etc.
Skilled in use of computers and software programs such as MS Word, Excel, and email.
Visual acuity with ability to identify colors, i. e., color coded electrical wiring, etc.
Sufficient hearing to be able to identify levels of sound necessary for working with sound equipment.
Knowledge of electricity and plumbing concepts and building maintenance is preferred.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

This is a part time permanent position which will work 29 hours per week and earns vacation and sick time benefits. Work schedules at the Bradenton Area Convention Center, the Powel Crosley Estate, and the Premier Sports Campus are set up and are based on supporting the variety of events that take place at the facility. Therefore, work schedules can vary and there can also be variations in schedules based on seasons of the year. Work schedules could also include weekends, day, afternoon, evening, overnight, and/or holidays depending on the needs to support events, and to open or close the facilities.
