Manage flavor development projects and provide project direction to R&D, Technology, Sales, Category Management, etc. as necessary. Formulate new flavor creations or modify existing flavors to meet customer requirements, internal testing needs or new technology development. The Flavor Chemist will effectively drive functional business growth in support of company goals and objectives while continuing to learn valuable techniques from Senior Flavor Chemists to advance knowledge, skills, techniques, and expertise.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create Savory flavors that meet the regulatory, cost, and performance guidelines outlined in R&D projects. Modify existing flavors and/or create new flavors as needed to meet internal as well as external customer project requirements.
- Complete assigned projects and internal requests within the designated time frame and cost guidelines. Follows all procedures for documentation of flavor specifications and project completion.
- Ensure that all flavors created adhere to manufacturing standards and internal technical and commercial aspects.
- Provide technical flavor expertise and customer support (internal and external) for assigned market/project segments.
- Lead technical presentations to customers and sales force as needed.
- May manage a Flavor Technician’s daily work efforts.
- Supports internal teams with issues or challenges as assigned.
- Assist in the general up-keep, maintenance, and stocking of the Flavor Laboratory, e.g., lab cleanliness, raw material and flavor sample archival and inventory management.
- Consistent with MANE’s environmental commitments, every employee shall actively participate in relevant education/training based upon corporate and local environmental objectives.
- Other duties and responsibilities in support of company objectives
- This role may require occasional travel for customer meetings, industry events, or project collaboration. Flexibility to travel as needed is expected.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science or related discipline
- 10 years of experience creating winning flavors.
- Thermally processed flavor formulation experience is considered an advantage.
- Certified membership into the Society of Flavor Chemists is considered an advantage.
