TITLE OF POSITION: Director of Women's Basketball Operations (DOBO)
DEPARTMENT: Athletics Department
POSITION REPORTS TO: Head Coach / Women’s Basketball
OVERVIEW:
Manhattan College, an NCAA Division I institution and member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), is seeking a qualified candidate for a 12 month, full-time position as Director of Women's Basketball Operations (DOBO). Abide by all NCAA and Manhattan College rules and regulations. Assistant to Head Coach. Will meet with Head Coach daily to confirm schedule and upcoming logistical issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Travel:
Budgeting Hotel expenses
Work with hotel event managers to coordinate number of rooms, meeting space and AV equipment.
Plan all team meals
Cost for in internet access
Availability for bus and family parking
Contacting bus company prior to the season starting & throughout the season with updated itineraries
Make sure that bus has the appropriate drinks and snacks for each trip
Working with travel agent to get flight times and prices
Approving flight purchases
Checking team in at the airport
Team Travel Itinerary:
Departure and arrival times o Breakfast on the bus information
Destination, hotel, arena addresses
Practice time, film time, shoot around time game time and post-game heal information
MC arrival
ID reminders and any other information for travel
Meals:
Organizing all team meals with budget restrictions
Reservations for the team at restaurants
Ordering pre and post-game meals
Catering specialty parties for parents, players, and alumni
Cash Advance/Usage:
Using a Cash Advance for team travel, appropriate per diem for staff and players while on the road and at home,
Tipping, miscellaneous travel expenses
Scheduling:
Practice scheduling and academics
Coordinating with facilities for court availability
Meet with Men's DOBO daily to confirm women's basketball court times are secure
Away Practice and Shoot-Around:
Contact schools and request a practice time (2-3 hour block)
One (1) hour shoot around time for the morning of game
Practice Responsibilities:
Overseeing managers in their responsibilities: Practice prep, film, water, equipment, clock management, and practice take down
Overseeing male practice players
Class Excusal Forms
Working with Athletic Academic Counselors to put together Missed Class Forms for the student-athletes to give to their professors
Must have departure times and practice time (home or away) already determined
Locker Room
Make sure locker room is being properly taken care of by team and staff
Stocking the locker room with snacks, drinks and recovery shakes
WBCA Convention:
Registering the staff for the WBCA's Convention at the Women's Final Four
Complimentary Game Day Ticket Lists:
Game-day tickets and group sale
Coordinate with marketing team
Ticket list to opposing team's Event Manager
Official and Unofficial Visits:
Coordinate all flights, hotels, transportation/subway, meals
Tax Exempt forms
Help coaching staff prepare detailed itineraries for the visits. Submit information in ARMS
Help with mailings and be a resource to any of the coaches for gathering data on players
Community Service:
Participate in representing MC in Community Service projects
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree required.
Minimum of 3-5 years of full-time prior experience at the Division I level.
Assertive, outgoing, hard-working and resourceful.
Demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships and create partnerships with a wide range of constituent groups.
Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Possess a valid driver's license.
Required to travel and the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong attention to detail and keep specific timelines.
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to problem solve.
Ability to work effectively with coaches, students, faculty, administration, alumni, and community.
Ability to manage social media accounts and create graphics
Other duties assigned by the head coach.
Salary: $59,670
