Current Colorado Department of Education License with endorsement as Special Ed Generalist or Affective Needs; School Psychologist; or School Social Worker
Experience working with behavioral analysis and interventions of various special needs populations

Teacher contract (182 Days) Salary based on salary scale and adjusted for additional education and experience Job DescriptionThe Behavior Specialist will provide proactive support, consultation, modeling, coaching, regular reviews, observations, evaluations and written reports for students who require behavior intervention plans. Responsibilities And Requirements Include
Conduct behavioral screenings, Functional Behavior Assessments and evaluations in a timely manner for students
Assist the development of behavioral goals that are educationally relevant and will be used in the student’s educational setting
Coordinate with classroom teachers, other educators and parents by recommending strategies to enhance the student’s educational progress and performance.
Maintain all required records, forms and files including those prescribed by the program and those required by the BOCES.
Attend IEP meetings.
Consult with parents regarding student needs/progress.
Guide behavioral intervention in determining goals and measuring the effectiveness of interventions.
Train and monitor teachers and paraprofessionals to work with students with behavioral needs Participate on BOCES teams to provide expertise about autism and behavioral interventions
Serve as a member of school IEP teams and Mental Health Teams in each building
Demonstrate knowledge of developmental and behavioral benchmarks of students
Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills.
Ability to use web based IEP programs.
Establish and maintain effective, cooperative relationships with school personnel, students and parents.
Scheduled, weekly visits to each building
Center-based program consultation
Consult/Review for all students with SED, students with Autism, and at-risk for placement
Proactive MTSS participation
Collaboratively develop, review and monitor behavioral progress monitoring
On-Call to respond to crises throughout the BOCES
