Position Summary: The Community Markets Coordinator will support all program administration and volunteer coordination activities for MANNA FoodBank’s Community Markets team. These activities include scheduling market routes, leading volunteer driver relationships and scheduling, partner communication, as well as supporting larger Community Market initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Administration and Communications:
  • Work with market partners and internal operations teams to develop monthly market schedules. Promptly resolve and communicate any updates to scheduled times.
  • Coordinate MANNA services, such as SNAP outreach and nutritional programming, and external wrap around services, to attend markets.
  • Provide customer service to market partners.
  • Support the creation, implementation, and tracking of program materials and trainings for partners, volunteers, and neighbors
  • Develop channels to receive and respond to neighbor needs, including coordinating neighbor surveying initiatives.
  • Support the onboarding of new markets sites, including setting up accounts in our ERP/CRM, tracking of compliance documentation, and managing both external and internal communications.
  • Provide team assistance on-site and at markets as needed
Volunteer Coordination
  • Recruit, and coordinate volunteers to support Community Markets distributions and pick up routes. Ensure all routes have adequate volunteer coverage.
  • Organize events for Community Market volunteers, such as training, appreciation events and open houses.
  • Maintain volunteer feedback pathways: ensure feedback is elevated to the appropriate staff and resolved appropriately.
  • Act as the main point of contact and on-site support person for volunteers.
  • Oversee maintenance of Community Market’s volunteer database and provide accurate reporting of volunteer hours
Qualifications:
  • A range of education and experience will be considered, including:
  • High School diploma or equivalent, combined with three to four years of work experience, and up to a four-year degree with one to two years of work experience.
  • Program coordination, volunteer management, community outreach coordination, administrative assistant, or a related field
  • Must have excellent computer skills with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook
  • Must be comfortable with learning and navigating technology and databases
  • Must be able to work in a busy office environment, work to deadlines and manage multiple priorities
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional communication skills to engage with a diverse group of key stakeholders and staff
  • A commitment to the mission of MANNA FoodBank in the work toward ending hunger in Western North Carolina
  • Proof of current, valid Driver’s License, auto insurance, use of a personal vehicle and clean MVR

Travel: Routine moderate travel is required within the service area; occasional overnight travel for conferences or regional meetings. Current driver’s license required; copy of current auto insurance; and clean MVR required.
Schedule: Flexible schedule availability is required; the typical schedule ranges between 7:00 – 5:00, Mon.–Fri. with evening and weekend hours as needed.
In instances of a federal, state or locally declared emergency or order, MANNA FoodBank is typically considered an essential service and emergency responder; all employees may be called upon to perform regular or emergent duties.
