Warehouse Associate

Position Summary: This position, while based in MANNA’s Distribution department, assists in the overall operations of MANNA’s warehouse as needed.
Essential Duties:
Order Pick:
- Picks, palletizes and stretch-wraps product (dry and perishable) for agency orders. Must maintain accuracy in picking and recording of product.
- Picks product for TEFAP/SNAP programs as needed. Responsible for conducting periodic inventories of specific product for inventory control
- Keeps track of pallet weights, number of pallets/orders, and delivery sequence of orders for mobile deliveries in order for appropriate vehicle(s) to be assigned. Provides information to driver(s) for proper loading of delivery vehicles
Reclaim:
- Responsible for assisting in the Reclaim operation of the warehouse in accordance with MANNA and Feeding America guidelines
- Responsible for the prep work of the Reclaim Center including loading and unloading boxes of product to and from scan lines, wrapping, weighing and logistics of completed pallets, trash and recycling take away.
- Responsible for receiving and tracking inventory of Reclaim Department by WMS and barcoding.
- Responsible for meeting scan goals and organizing product into correct boxes
Distribution:
- Restocks current product and stocks newly received product in a timely manner while maintaining accuracy in product labeling and coding
- Monitors product code dates and brings questionable product to the attention of the Distribution Supervisor
- Assists with MANNA Express and Pop-up Market deliveries by selecting, counting and loading fresh produce and other food items for distribution throughout our service area
Volunteer Center:
Assists Volunteer Center team in the direct supervision and facilitation of volunteer activities, particularly those of youth and school volunteer groups
Produce and Perishables:
Responsible for backing up Perishable Associate in times of absence or need to include assess produce quality, manage culling and updating Produce Tracker.
Audit prep work/Cleaning:
Responsible for cleaning duties as assigned by the Operations Director or Department Supervisors in order to help aide in facility cleanliness with specific attention to food safety. Assigned duties will include, but are not limited to dusting racking, vacuuming of operational areas, mopping, sweeping, use of floor scrubber, cobwebbing of walls, corners and other areas, wiping down of surfaces and other cleaning duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Recent, practical forklift experience is strongly preferred and/or the ability to obtain certification internally within three months of hire is required
- High school graduate or GED required
- Basic computer skills
- Must provide proof of current, valid North Carolina driver’s license with clean MVR and auto insurance

- Must be able to efficiently and safely accomplish tasks within a reasonable amount of time
- Outstanding Customer Service abilities and a positive attitude, with the ability to work with a diverse population of volunteers, staff and agency representatives.
- Must be organized, accurate and efficient in performing work duties
- Demonstrated track record of dependability; must be able to meet company attendance standards
- Prior experience in production work a plus
- Prior experience working in a warehouse environment or with warehouse equipment required
Working Conditions: This position will be performed in a warehouse setting. This setting that can be at times, hot or cold depending on the season. This is a fast-paced hands-on physical work environment. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to moderately loud within the Warehouse.
Physical Demands: The physical demands required are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
This position requires standing and walking for long periods, the ability to frequently and safely lift and transport 40 lbs, occasionally 50-75lbs, Additionally, this position requires operation of a manual pallet jacks with the ability to manage loads in excess of 1,200lbs. This includes pushing and pulling of product throughout the warehouse. While performing job duties the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee, while scanning, will use repetitive motion to accomplish objectives. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and move objects as described above. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Schedule:
Mon-Fri 8am-4pm. Flexible schedule may be agreed upon with manager at a later time. Occasional nights and weekends for audits or special events.
