Job Description: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Position Title: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Reports To: Clinical Director / Director of Behavioral Services

Location: Augusta, GA

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized behavior intervention programs for clients, typically individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. The BCBA will provide supervision and training to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and other support staff while ensuring the highest standards of clinical care.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assessment and Evaluation:
  • Conduct comprehensive functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to identify client needs.
  • Utilize a variety of assessment tools and data collection methods to inform treatment planning.
  1. Intervention Development:
  • Develop individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) based on assessment results.
  • Create goals and objectives aligned with client needs and best practices in ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis).
  1. Implementation and Monitoring:
  • Oversee the implementation of BIPs by RBTs and other support staff.
  • Monitor client progress through regular data collection and analysis.
  • Adjust intervention strategies based on ongoing data review and analysis.
  1. Supervision and Training:
  • Provide supervision to RBTs and other support staff, ensuring fidelity to intervention plans.
  • Conduct training sessions for staff, parents, and caregivers on ABA principles and specific intervention techniques.
  • Ensure that all staff adhere to ethical guidelines and standards set by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  1. Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including educators, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and medical professionals.
  • Maintain open and regular communication with clients' families to discuss progress, challenges, and strategies.
  • Prepare and present progress reports and updates to relevant stakeholders.
  1. Documentation and Compliance:
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of client progress, session notes, and treatment modifications.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant ethical and legal standards, including HIPAA and BACB guidelines.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and stay current with research and best practices in ABA.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
  • Certification: Current BCBA certification by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience providing ABA services, preferably with individuals with ASD or other developmental disabilities.
  • Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and report writing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Other Requirements:
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if travel is required).
  • Background check and clearance.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and move around for extended periods during sessions.
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as bending, kneeling, and reaching during interactions with clients.

Work Environment:

  • Work may be conducted in a variety of settings including clinics, homes, schools, and community environments.
  • May involve exposure to challenging behaviors that require physical intervention and de-escalation techniques.
