SUMMARY
The Director, Procurement directly manages the procurement function for 6 plants and 10 branches. The purpose of this position is to set the strategic direction for procurement. This individual must demonstrate the company's core values and collaborative abilities in a fast-paced environment. This position is based out of Herndon and has supervisory responsibility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
The essential duties and responsibilities of the Director of Procurement: (other duties may be assigned)
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the operational procurement group; develop and lead execution of a procurement business plan.
- Establish, communicate, and implement long-term goals for the department in order to promote effectiveness and efficiency in the procurement function
- Serve as the primary contact for procurement related questions, training, policy and procedure interpretation and alignment by all departments.
- Develop and implement procurement-related training programs for buyers & receivers within the organization.
- Assist with contract development and administration.
- Manage and revise policies, procedures, and programs to promote organizational value and efficiency of the procurement function; meet regularly with respective departments regarding procurement initiatives to gain understanding and develop joint recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Develop, manage, and report on Procurement KPI’s that drive actionable insights, activity and results for the organization.
- Process, review and approve purchase orders, lead the execution and review of RFP/RFQ’s and assist with discrepancy resolution.
QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field.
- 10 years of related experience, with experience leading a direct or indirect team.
- Results-oriented, metrics-driven leader with expertise in purchasing, supplier collaboration, development and compliance.
- Experience working within a modern ERP system (SAP S/4 HANA Preferred).
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints from customers. Ability to effectively communicate with management, public groups, peers and staff.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to present quantitative data utilizing an electronic spreadsheet calculation. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situation
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
