Marathon Nursing is Hiring a 1:1 Nursing for School-Aged Boy Near Dorchester, MA

Case-Specific Details:

School-aged boy requires one-to-one nursing at school from a highly skilled, reliable, and compassionate nurse. He lives at home with his family, where he is loved and well cared for. Please help us in providing the nursing support they need and getting this great little boy to school!

Skilled Nursing Care includes: tracheostomy care, enteral care/feeds, assist with transfers and ambulation, and assist with ADL' s as needed.

Shifts:

  • Monday - Friday: 7:30am - 4:00pm

This position is eligible for QUARTERLY retention bonuses of up to $3,250 ($13,000 annually)

We are currently seeking motivated and compassionate Registered Nurses (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to work with our medically complex pediatric patients in their homes. Nurses with pediatric nursing experience, critical care experience, or any nurse with a passion for working with children are welcomed to apply. Essential Functions:

  • Recognize changes in your patient’s conditions that require appropriate nursing interventions to ensure the patient’s well-being and safety.
  • Work collaboratively with the patient’s family, respecting all family preferences while communicating at a high level with both the family and the Marathon office
  • Provide care that is culturally competent, non-discriminatory, and always considerate of the patient’s comfortability, needs, and preferences.
  • Exhibit professionalism, representing Marathon Nursing well by focusing on the needs of the patient at all times, and working collaboratively with the patient, their family, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Assist patients on a 1:1 basis, providing all direct patient care ordered by providers, including but not limited to:
  • Assessing patients with seizure disorders, responding with appropriate nursing intervention as ordered
  • Maintaining feeding tubes and provide enteral care, nutrition, and hydration as ordered
  • Providing tracheostomy and mechanical ventilator care as ordered
  • Providing infusion therapies, including TPN, and CVL care as ordered
  • Medication administration

Requirements:

  • Current, unrestricted, and unencumbered state license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Massachusetts
  • Proof of valid and current CPR/BLS certification
  • Six months experience in Home Care/Private Duty Nursing is preferred, but new learners are welcomed to apply (New Grad nurses may qualify for our New Grad Nursing Program)
  • Experience in Outpatient or Inpatient Pediatric Nursing is preferred but not required
  • Medical Surgical Care and Critical Care experience is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills that facilitate the building of long-lasting and meaningful relationships with our patients and their families
  • Dynamic problem solver who enjoys working collaboratively and in team environments

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to do occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of approximately 50 pounds
  • Ability to withstand periods of prolonged sitting, walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and/or reaching.
  • Must have visual and hearing acuity necessary to perform job duties and maintain patient safety
