Marblehead Public Village Elementary School is Hiring a World Languages Teacher grades 4-6 Near Marblehead, MA

Teaches Spanish and French to students in grades 4,5 and 6. • Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.• Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs,interests and abilities of the students.• Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate tothe developmental level of students.• Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation uponrequest of immediate superior.• Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.• Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and, inharmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units andprojects to communicate these objectives to students.• Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistentwith the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs andcapabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.• Strives to implement by instruction and action the district’s philosophy ofeducation and instructional goals and objectives.• Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and providesprogress reports as required.• Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment,materials and facilities.• Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, districtpolicy, and administrative regulation.• Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governingstudent life and conduct, and for the classroom, develops reasonable rules ofclassroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fairand just manner.• Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education-relatedpurposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so underreasonable terms and as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement ifapplicable.• Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required.• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized andsmall group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.• Translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the availabletime for instruction.• Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve afunctional learning atmosphere in the classroom.• Evaluates pupils’ academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, andprepares progress reports.• Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discusspupil’s progress and interpret the school program.• Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff members inassessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude, and learning problems.• Supervises pupils in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working day.• Administers group standardized tests in accordance with district testing program.• All other duties as assigned.
