March for Life Education and Defense Fund is Hiring a State March Program Assistant Coordinator Near Washington, DC

State March Program Assistant Coordinator, March for Life Education & Defense Fund

The March for Life Education and Defense Fund is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that coordinates the world's largest annual pro-life event and civil protest. Through the annual March in Washington, D.C., marches in state capitals across the country, and through being the collective voice of Pro-Life marchers on Capitol Hill, in state capitals, in the Media, and on social media every day of the year, the organization is uniquely positioned to build a culture of life.

The organization is currently seeking to hire a State March Program Assistant Coordinator. Based in Washington D.C., a few blocks from the White House, this full-time hybrid position will report to the Director of the State March Program.

Position Summary:

As the State March Program Assistant Coordinator, you will work alongside the Director of the State March Program and the State March Coordinators to strengthen and grow the State March Program in state capitals across the nation. Your primary responsibilities include assisting with partnered State Marches, coordinating promotional assets for licensed State Marches, and assisting the State March team with critical project coordination and communications.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the state march email account, state march calendar, and responding to external inquiries promptly.
  • Assisting with State March Committee member communications and serving as a point of contact for questions and information with state pro-life organizations and individual march attendees.
  • Preparing and taking minutes for State March Committee calls with participating organizations.
  • Preparing and customizing invitations and acknowledgement letters for participating organizations, volunteers, and speakers.
  • Compiling internal meeting agendas and taking minutes.
  • Participating in weekly planning calls with State March Partners.
  • Assisting with relationships with licensed State March organizers and overseeing licensed State March promotional assets and deadlines with the Communications team.
  • Utilizing and maintaining project management systems to assist in planning and executing State March events.
  • Coordinating and compiling event materials such as the run-of-show, scripts, site plans, speaker assets etc.
  • Assisting the lead State March Coordinator with onsite event management including volunteer management, event program assistance, and communications assistance.
  • Assistance in the preparation and coordination of promotional materials with the Communications team, including emails, social media posts, print materials, etc.
  • Assist in overseeing the state march websites, ensuring the proper information is posted, and updated regularly, coordinating with the Communications staff and outside vendors.
  • Assisting the Vice President of Government Affairs with projects to assist in the broader strategic state march goals.
  • Assisting the Director of the State March Program in other State March event-related tasks and communications as assigned, including assisting with licensed state marches.
  • Coordinating with Development team to ensure sponsors are appropriately recognized at partnered State Marches.
  • Assisting as needed at the annual national March for Life in Washington, D.C.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal management skills.
  • Strong project management and/or event planning skills.
  • Accurate, precise, and orderly data management skills.
  • Excellent follow-through and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Completion of a Bachelors degree.
  • 0-1 years' experience, entry level position with opportunities to advance.
  • Ability to travel, under 5%.
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
  • Experience in using Asana project management preferred.
  • Passion for building a culture of life.
