Marcum LLP is seeking an Accounting Services and Tax Manager to join our growing and well established national firm in Costa Mesa, CA. This position requires an experienced Accounting Services and Tax professional with strong interpersonal and supervisory skills.

The Accounting Services and Tax Manager is responsible for providing high level review and compilation services, and developing an understanding of the client’s business, anticipating and addressing client concerns as well as tax return review.
Responsibilities:

• Assist and perform monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing processes for various clients, which include preparation of journal entries including regular, accrual, re-class, reversal and adjusting journal entries.
• Review, consult and implement clients accounting activities including revenue recognition, AR & AP procedures, payroll processing, multiple bank reconciliations, balance sheet account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
• Provide consulting services and establish policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and tax laws and regulations.
• Ensure complete client satisfaction through open communication, managing expectations, meeting deadlines.
• Establish and maintain internal controls and optimize operating and accounting procedures.
• Project manages one or more client assignments simultaneously with effective use of project management techniques and organization of resources to ensure achievement of assignment objectives.

Qualifications:

• B. S. degree in accounting or finance, CPA preferred.
• 6 years prior experience with 2 years significant supervisory experience.
• Demonstrates working knowledge of accounting systems including Excel and QuickBooks. Experience with ProSystem fx Engagement a plus.
• Advanced knowledge of financial accounting & GAAP - as well as sales tax, property tax, 1099s, payroll tax.
• Experience with process management; understanding of flow of transactions.
• QB Online and Desktop experience required.
• Tax preparation experience a plus.
• Strong computer skills (Excel and Word proficient) and the ability to learn and interface using other accounting software as needed.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Strong accounting and analytical skills.
• Detail orientated with ability to multi-task, and decisively execute solutions to problems.
• Thorough understanding of complex technical issues with ability to meet deadlines with accuracy.

Compensation RangeSalary: $114,000.00 - $150,000.00
