Marcum LLP is seeking a Senior to join our growing and well established national firm in Philadelphia. This position requires an experienced Tax professional with strong interpersonal and supervisory skills.

Responsibilities

* Accurately, efficiently, and thoroughly prepare and review individual, partnership, corporate and fiduciary tax returns of moderate complexity.

* Prepare work papers and other documentation, including (but not limited to) tax journal entries to the trial balance, book to tax journal entries, depreciation schedules.

* Develop tax plans and projections for tax extensions.

* Reconcile taxable income.

* Conduct research and stay abreast of latest regulatory changes in tax.

* Provide assistance to peers and others when requested, including overseeing, reviewing work of interns.

* Act as engagement leader as assigned.

* Recognize extended to tax service opportunities for client and bring them to the attention of upper management

Qualifications

* B.S. in Accounting; MS in Taxation desired

* CPA certification or eligibility required

* 2-6 years of relevant experience, preferably in a mid to large public accounting firm

* Understanding of the complex requirements of returns for High Net Worth Individuals, S Corps, C Corps, partnerships

* Understand all aspects of an engagement

* Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles (such as financial statements and journal entries) and tax standards to effectively supervise staff and solve routine engagement principles

* Strong listening, communication, and interpersonal skills

* Developed analytical, problem solving, and time management skills

* Leadership capabilities

* Ability to effectively articulate basic tax and business issues and their resolutions
