**PURPOSE OF POSITION:**

To fully develop the social catering market segment by handling all social inquiries, as well as, soliciting potential social business sources, including room blocks.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**

- To achieve monthly booking goals.

- To prospect, solicit and develop accounts and referring organizations within the social market segment, fully utilizing multi-property Delphi , the internet, industry publications, networking opportunities and all other information sources.

- To meet or exceed weekly sales goals for telephone solicitation, site inspections, luncheons and calls.

- To provide excellent, consistent, personal service to clients prior, during and with follow-up after each event.

- To personally greet on-site contact to assure all needs and last-minute needs are met.

- To be familiar with hotel banquet capacities, along with banquet, restaurant, front desk and housekeeping procedures to sell and service accurately.

- To use all prospect sources available for new account production.

- To follow up promptly on leads and delivering on the 4 hour response guarantee.

- Active involvement in industry associations and trade shows.

- To participate in development of direct mail, client events, email campaigns, package specials and all promotions.

- To be current with all market related publications in order to stay on top of all industry trends and uncover any potential leads.

- To participate in all customer promotions and events.

- To submit weekly and monthly booking reports on a timely manner.

- To maintain all files with current trace dates, accurate histories and all relevant information regarding booking activity.

- To be current and to abide by all sales office procedures and systems.

- To promote a high quality company image by demonstrating professionalism to both clients and colleagues.

- To recommend improvement of facilities and services as needed via work orders or directly.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

**MANDATORY JOB REQUIREMENTS:**

- High school diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred.

- Previous hotel or Sales experience preferred.

- Good oral and written communication skills.

- Understanding the pace and expectations of guests in the hotel industry.

- Proficient computer and typing skills.

- Organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and the ability to change assignments often with short notice.

- Accuracy with numbers.

- May require work during weekends, evenings, and some light travel depending on assigned market segments and networking opportunities.

The ideal candidate will be an energetic, enthusiastic, and highly motivated individual who will lead by example.

For each position, we require at least five positive verifiable references, a stable work history verified by a background check, a positive attitude, a willingness to be a team player, and the ability to work weekends and holidays.
