As a Finance Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting for the Paperboard Manufacturing Facility’s Controller and the West Monroe operations team. Your responsibilities will encompass daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting to drive profitability. This involves analyzing actual and forecasted/budgeted financial results and actively participating in the facility’s projects and day-to-day accounting functions.

Ideal Candidate Profile: The successful candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in a finance role, with at least 3-4 years in a manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive financial reporting to support our business objectives. Additionally, this role offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze data, offering management a thorough assessment of key projects, and optimizing them to achieve superior business results for the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Variable Cost Reporting Leader: Deliver timely and accurate cost analysis and sound financial advice to the management team, aiding in minimizing manufacturing costs and meeting objectives. This includes analyzing variances from budget and forecasts.
• Annual Budget Development: Lead and manage the financial development of the annual budget.
• Monthly Outlook Preparation: Prepare the monthly outlook, understanding key issues within the mill and their impact on financial performance.
• Month-End Closing and Reporting: Oversee key aspects of month-end closing tasks and reporting.
• Project Financial Analysis: Assist with the preparation and/or review of financial analyses for proposed projects, supporting sound business decisions and evaluating completed capital appropriations.
• GAAP Knowledge: Apply a working knowledge of GAAP, ensuring effective implementation and maintenance of financial policies, processes, and instructions.
• Quality Commitment: Demonstrate a commitment to quality performance by adopting a customer-based philosophy in the level of service provided.
• Staff Mentoring and Training: Mentor, train, and support financial staff within the group.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years in Accounting or Finance; an advanced Finance degree or certification is a plus.
• Manufacturing Experience: At least 3-4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with demonstrated strengths in analysis, planning, forecasting, and interpersonal skills.
• Finance and Business Acumen: A broad understanding of finance, business management, cost accounting, and GAAP.
• Internal Controls and SOX: Understanding and ability to implement necessary internal controls, including SOX experience.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
• Communication and Collaboration: Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management.
• Creative Solutions and Continuous Improvement: Demonstrated ability to implement creative solutions and a commitment to continuous improvement.
