Marian High School is Hiring an Annual Fund Director Near Omaha, NE

JOB SUMMARY

The Annual Fund Director is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive annual giving program to build a long-term base of support for Marian from various constituents including parents, friends, community partners, faculty, staff and graduating students. The Annual Fund Director will implement a multi-year plan to increase strategic solicitation of financial support utilizing direct mail, phone, online giving and personal solicitation. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Manages a defined portfolio of annual giving prospects and develops strategies to cultivate, solicit and steward each prospect/donor.
  • Works closely with Marian leadership to develop strategies to increase annual fund donors ($1,000 and above).
  • Oversees and coordinates the wealth screening process for prospects utilizing software, online resources and institutional knowledge. Uses screening results to create major gift profiles of prospective donors.
  • Works with the advancement database administrator to conduct donor research, prepare profiles of donors and prospects, and identify prospects to contribute to the school’s annual giving campaign. 
  • Tracks progress on prospect management using the Raiser's Edge donor database to create action items and successfully records contents of donor meetings and interactions.
  • Works with the vice president of advancement and the marketing team to create direct mailing materials and appeals for different constituents (solicitation letters, articles, emails, social media), and supervises the implementation and distribution of the materials.
  • Works with the vice president of advancement on initiatives to educate current students about philanthropy and “giving back.” 
  • Works with the alumnae director to develop and implement a solicitation program for graduating seniors.
  • Executes annual day of giving.
  • Works with the vice president of advancement to develop strategies to increase support from corporate matching gift programs. 
  • Assists with development events, activities and meetings. 
  • Attends school events as needed to steward, solicit and engage prospects and donors.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills with the ability to maintain effectiveness in a busy office setting and willingness to function as a team player.
  • Demonstrated comfort level of meeting, organizing and developing donor relationships.
  • Strong communication skills and public speaking experience working with internal and external audiences.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills including persuasive solicitation letters, fundraising proposals and reports.
  • Demonstrated competency with database programs with working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge preferred
  • Enjoys problem-solving, takes initiative, and demonstrates critical thinking, collaboration and creativity.
  • Ability to be a good representative of Marian High School and the Advancement Department.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree plus three to five years of demonstrated, professional experience as a fundraiser in a nonprofit organization. 
  • Prior experience in fundraising and donor relations is required.

REQUIRED WORK HOURS

  • A minimum of 40 hours per week, plus other hours may be necessary to complete job duties including occasional travel, and evening and weekend work.

Full-time position. Salary and benefits are dependent on experience and qualifications.
