THE IOP Counselor is responsible for the oversight and management of IOP services and provision of SUD clinical services with groups and individuals.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to conducting SUD assessments and facilitating SUD groups in IOP, along with maintaining and updating IOP curriculum. The IOP Counselor will provide individual recovery plans and counseling, serve as a resource to residents in developing 12 step and other self-help programming. This individual will also maintain client records, document resident compliance, and coordinate closely with other members of the clinical team.
Qualifications
The IOP Counselor should hold at minimum a Bachelor's level degree in social work or substance abuse. Current licensure in the state of Maryland required (KCSW-C, CSC-AD, or LCACD).
The candidate needs to have at least 2 years experience in provision of substance use counseling and/or substance abuse groups and experience in IOP setting with Medicaid population. Along with strong clinical knowledge of trauma, homelessness, and chronic mental illness.
This candidate should also have strong written, verbal and computer skills along with the ability to effectively manage administrative and clinical tasks independently.
If in recovery, the candidate should have at least 2 years of sobriety.
