South Mountain Community College (SMCC) reflects the diversity of the surrounding community, a rich mix of rural, urban, and suburban neighborhoods. Job Summary

South Mountain Community College is hiring a Technology Support Specialist
This position provides technical support on various forms of enterprise technologies--computer systems, information networks, peripherals, software applications, and audiovisual equipment. Assists users requesting moves, installation of equipment, and troubleshooting. This support is administered via phone, remote access, and on-site.
Essential Functions

50% - Provide professional, client-focused technical support in a timely manner via multiple modalities including telephone, face-to-face, electronic messaging, and remote access. Create and escalate support tickets in a multi-layered support structure; provide support ticket status updates when requested.
25% - Provide audiovisual support and event setups.
10% - Configure and test applications and systems images for deployment.
10% - Develop high quality documentation for both internal and external Knowledge bases.
5% - Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED and three years of experience with desktop user support or technical support for equipment, networks, systems, telecommunications, or technology security, appropriate to assignment.
There is no substitution or equivalency allowable for the High School Diploma or GED.
OR
An equivalent combination of the conferred degree, education, certification and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.
Desired Qualifications
  1. Associate's degree or higher in an Information Technology related field.
  2. Two years of experience providing technical support within an educational institution.
  3. One year of experience supporting Apple computers.
  4. Two years of experience deploying computers and software via SCCM.
  5. Current IT certification (ITIL, A , Network , MCP, or Apple).
  6. Experience writing technical documentation for users in an IT support role (KB Articles, How-To Docs, Video Tutorials)
Special Working Conditions

Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D Driver's License is required; employee must meet district minimum standards regarding driving:
May be required to work at multiple sites or locations.
This position requires the ability to maintain confidentiality.
