We Require
  • Bachelor’s degree in Family Studies, Human Services, Social Work, Non-Profit Administration, Education, Business or Public Administration, or another related field within a social or human services environment
  • Five years of professional social work experience within a social or human services environment
  • Lead and/or supervisory experience
  • Experience working within a program that serves children aged 0-5 years

Job Contributions
  • Oversees the implementation of family engagement strategies.
  • Provides direction and supervision to the Early Education Family Support Specialists, who work with families enrolled in childcare partnerships and services directly operated by the Early Education Division (EED).
  • Supervises and monitors procedures for the eligibility determination, recruitment, selection, and enrollment and attendance of children, and provides oversight of strategies and practices that support successful transitions for children in and out of, or between, program services and/or options, and the successful assessment and goal setting of program families.
  • Supports the implementation of strategies and processes that provide parents and community members with opportunities to participate in the EED programs as volunteers and in Policy Council
  • Oversees efforts to share responsibilities with parents for children’s early learning and development by implementing family engagement strategies to foster parental confidence and skills in promoting children’s learning and development.
  • Provides oversight and monitoring of the opportunities for parents to participate in research-based parenting curriculum that builds on parent’s knowledge and offers parents an opportunity to increase their knowledge and skills in promoting their children’s learning and development.
  • Participates in developing, implementing, and evaluating a family partnership process that includes a partnership agreement and activities to support family well-being, safety, health, and economic stability.
  • Supervises the process of determining, verifying, and documenting eligibility. Ensures that staff is well-trained in these processes. Review and monitor applications to ensure that documentation is correct prior to enrollment. Assists in managing the waitlist of applicants.
  • Implements and monitors the processes for transition planning that ensure children receive the most appropriate placement and services, including compliance with timing regulations, family collaborations, and collaborations between programs and agencies.
  • Participates in community engagement activities to leverage community strengths, needs, and resources.
Working Conditions
  • Work is routinely performed in an office environment, which may require long periods of sitting, reading, and typing
  • Requires travel to program sites throughout Maricopa County, to and from various county, client, and contractor locations during a scheduled workday, subject to County policies regarding the use of a County or private vehicle used on County business
  • Valid Arizona driver's license is required upon hire
  • Must complete background check and fingerprint identification upon hire to successfully secure and maintain DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Must also complete a medical exam that includes screening for TB, as required by Federal and State regulations, to be free of communicable disease
