We Require
Three years of experience operating heavy equipment and trucks
High School Diploma or GED
A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a medical card issued by the state of Arizona
Specific technical training, certifications, or license endorsements may be required for some job assignments
Maricopa County is required by state and federal regulations to conduct a pre-employment safety history investigation for all positions that require an applicant to possess a commercial driver's license (CDL).
Maricopa County is also required to conduct a pre-employment safety history investigation for positions that directly impact commercial motor vehicle safety but may not specifically require a valid CDL

We are seeking a skilled, reliable, and efficient Heavy Equipment Operator. In this position, you will be responsible for operating : Motor Grader;
Backhoe; Frontend Loader; and other various types of equipment
Job Contributions
Operate a variety of medium to large-sized construction and maintenance equipment / vehicles in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures
Build up and repair dirt roads and shoulders and plating
Performs heavy manual labor assignments as needed and assists crews as required
Performs pre / post-trip cleans, services, and minor maintenance repairs on equipment / vehicles
Identify and report mechanical problems requiring additional repair
Complete daily job logs and prepare reports; enter information in the asset management system (Cartegraph). Attend safety meetings and other required meetings and mandatory training
Haul materials and transport vehicles and equipment to job sites using various trucks and transporters
Other duties as assigned
Working Conditions
Exerting up to 10 pounds occasionally or negligible weights frequently; sitting most of the time
Exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally, 10 pounds frequently, or negligible amounts constantly OR requires walking or standing to a significant degree
Exerting 20 - 25 pounds occasionally, 10 - 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly
