MARINA INN AT GRANDE DUNES is Hiring a Front Desk Supervisor Near Myrtle, SC

General Function/Primary Responsibilities:

Supervise the Front Office operations in a Four Diamond Resort atmosphere, including but not limited to: reservations, guest check in/ check out, PBX operator, Bell staff and homeowner relations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Fully embrace Service Excellence Initiative by demonstrating “customer-first” actions for all internal and external customers and accepting responsibility and accountability for demonstrating empowerment decisions and actions during daily work
  • Assist FOM in selection of team members and provide training and positive motivation to achieve strategic objectives
  • Assist FOM in supporting all front desk personnel in their daily duties by leading by example and through additional training with associates.
  • Supervise daily operational functions of the Front Desk.
  • A supervisor mainly works 2nd shift but should be prepared to work and cover any shift when necessary.
  • Monitor daily all incoming reservations made by the Associates to insure that all bookings are accurate and any special requests are filled.
  • Respond to guest's special requests, needs, problems, issues and concerns and accommodate groups to exceed guest expectations.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports on the property status, such as occupancy reports, forecast reports etc. Monitor daily revenue and expenses to insure maximization of hotel profit.
  • Promote a synergistic relationship with team members in all department and divisions
  • Ensure professional development to enhance work knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules, regulations, standards, guidelines, expectations and requirements
  • Ensure completion of work responsibilities and special projects in accordance with the designated timeframe, as determined by the reporting leader
  • Adhere to Company ethical requirements, demonstrating the utmost integrity in all professional and personal matters. Provide reporting leader with feedback, ideas and suggestions
  • Routinely cover MOD shifts on a daily or weekly basis.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent or equivalent work experience

Experience:

  • Minimum 1-3 years in work related field

Special Physical Requirements for the job/working conditions:

  • Sit and stand for long periods of time, walk, use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands or arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear.
  • Routinely required to work extended periods of time at a computer workstation
  • Routinely required to work flexible schedule based on the needs of the business

Specific vision requirements include:

  • Close, distance and, color vision
  • Ability to adjust focus

Special Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Sills including Word, Excel and other programs as needed
  • Proficient in cash handling procedures
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
  • Good communication skills including verbal and written skills
  • Effective leadership skills
  • Positive and effective customer service skills
  • Ability to solve problems
