POSITION SUMMARY :

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

L- Light Work : Required to push, pull or lift up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and / or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

• Ability to read, interpret, and follow State Board rules, Code of Ethics, School Board policies, and appropriate state and federal statutes.
• Knowledge and understanding of child development and the unique needs and characteristics of students served.
• Knowledge and understanding of school counseling principles, programs, and services.
• Knowledge of community resources and services available for student assistance.
• Ability to counsel and assist students, parents, and school personnel in the resolution of problems in student learning, behavior, and mental health.
• Ability to analyze and use data.
• Ability to verbally communicate and consult with parents, school personnel, and the community.
• Ability to maintain sensitivity to diverse populations.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS :

Education Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in School Counseling, Guidance and Counseling, or other graduate level counseling degree.

Computer Skills

Basic understanding and knowledge of use of current technology, as required for the position.

Certificates and / or Licenses

Certification in School Counseling (Grades PK 12)
