JOB TITLE: Support Services Representative
REPORTS TO: Director of Operations
FLSA: Non-Exempt
PURPOSE OF JOB:
The function of the Support Services Representative is to provide support to health center departments on an as needed basis. This will include patient registration, referrals closing-the loop, Call Center queue, keying data into the system to record the patients records and assisting with clerical tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Demonstrates excellent patient/staff relations skills, e.g.
a. smile and greet patients and staff .
b. engage all patients/staff in a genuine, warm and caring manner.
2. Respond to requests for assistance from colleagues at Mariposa in a positive, helpful manner.
3. Customer Service - Endeavor to meet assigned tasks..
4. Utilizes internal practice management and electronic record software to store and retrieve data in various formats.
5. Provides coverage to different departments as assigned.
6. Follows department workflows and expected behaviors.
7. Displays a positive image of the department by practicing good judgment and remaining professional at all times.
10. Registers and processes patients by utilizing the assigned software systems into the computer system upon arrival. This includes obtaining or verifying demographic and payment /insurance source information.
11. Assist in medication abstraction in multiple data systems.
12. Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision while exercising attention to details and independent judgment.
13. Assists in data entry utilizing devices or other sources.
14. Complete medical documentation required in departments in a timely manner.
15. Performs various clerical duties as needed in assigned work areas.

None.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Frequent mobility and/or sitting for extended periods of time.
2. Requires manual dexterity to operate keyboard, calculator, photocopy machine and other related office equipment.
3. Eyesight correctable to 20/20 to read numbers, policies and computer terminals.
4. Hearing within normal range.
5. High stress potential may require dealing with angry or upset individuals.
6. Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds or more
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS ANDABILITIES:
1. Speak, read and write English.
2. Bilingual, English/Spanish
3. Knowledge of medical office procedures and insurance company requirements, preferred.
4. Demonstrate ability to learn to utilize internal practice management and electronic record software to store and retrieve data in various formats.
5. Ability to perform job duties with consistent calm demeanor regardless of internal or external events.
6. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other employees, patients, organizations and the general public.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED

EXPERIENCE:
Solid customer service skills in a medical setting preferred.
Medical office experience with emphasis on insurance registration, verification of eligibility, primary care physician assignment, engaging patients, cashiering, and scheduling preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:
Fingerprint Verification Needed..
