Mark Gonsenhauser's Rugs & Carpet Superstore is Hiring a Sales/Design Consultant Near Virginia, VA
We are seeking a Salesperson for a Decorative Rug and Carpet Super Store. We are one of the largest retail stores in Virginia. We offer all types of floor coverings including Hand Made and Machine Made Rugs as well as Wall to Wall Carpeting.
If you like selling, working with color and design and interacting with people, you will enjoy working with our customers. Relevant sales and/or design experience strongly preferred. We will train you on all the products.
About Us:
We are a medium to high end Rug and Carpet retail store.
Our customer base is both retail, as well as the Interior Design community.
We operate the most extensive professional rug cleaning and repair plant in the area.
We offer an enjoyable and professional work environment.
Benefits:
We offer a commission based salary plus an hourly wage.
Paid holidays.
Two week paid vacation after one year of employment.
Three week paid vacation after five years of employment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
40 hours per week, alternating Saturdays.
Store hours are Monday through Saturday 10am – 5:30pm.
Sell area rugs and wall to wall carpets in our retail showroom. Consult with clients about their rug and carpet needs.
Do in home consultations and presentations of rugs.
Computer entry of customer invoices and special orders.
Coordinate delivery and follow up on customer special orders.
Competencies:
Knowledge of retail selling preferred.
Good presentation and people skills a big plus.
Color sense and a feeling for decorating are very helpful.
Ability to multi task and handle multiple customers at one time. Basic computer skills.
Requirements:
You should be dependable and reliable. Must be available to work some weekends. (No nights.) Must have reliable transportation. There is some local travel to customer's homes for consultations.
