Mark IV Capital Ventures Inc., a privately held, Venture Capital and Private Equity investor, with corporate offices located in Newport Beach, California, is seeking an experienced Analyst to join its team. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented individual seeking a highly visible position with a rapidly growing investment company who has a presence throughout the Western United States.

Financial Analyst, Venture Capital will play a role in managing the financial reporting process, supporting the development of investment proposals, and conducting thorough financial and market analysis. Working closely with senior professionals, you will be responsible for monitoring portfolio companies, managing transaction documentation, and contributing to the overall growth and success of the firm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform comprehensive financial analysis, including detailed financial modeling, valuation, and scenario analysis, to evaluate potential investment opportunities and assess risks.
  • Manage Aumni, Carta, and other databases to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Work with portfolio companies to provide material operating updates to Mark IV leadership.
  • Work independently and manage the preparation of investor communications, reporting packages, and quarterly updates, providing clear insights into portfolio performance and market trends.
  • Collaborate with the investment team to prepare investment memos, presentation materials, and other documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of financial models for portfolio companies, monitoring performance against projections and identifying areas for operational improvement.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics of portfolio companies to support strategic decision-making and performance optimization.
  • Participate in meetings and discussions with management teams of portfolio companies to gather relevant information and assess operational and financial health.
  • Monitor industry trends, macroeconomic factors, and regulatory changes that could impact investments and portfolio companies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, accounting, and operations to ensure smooth execution of investment transactions and adherence to regulatory guidelines.
  • All other duties as assigned by Management.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. Advanced degree or industry-recognized credential (e.g., MBA, CFA designation) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Financial Analyst in the private equity, investment banking, or related financial services industry.
  • Microsoft Office Suite 365; excellent proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and data analysis.
