Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our optometric healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing, coding systems, and medical terminology. This position also involves the responsibility of a backup receptionist. The candidate will also have strong people and communication skills, be dependable and loyal.

Duties:

- Review and verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies
- Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe
- Utilize medical coding to ensure compliance with federal regulations
- Maintain patient billing records and respond to patient inquiries regarding bills - Warmly greet patients as the assistant receptionist

- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and assist with patient needs

Qualifications:

- Proficiency in medical terminology, ICD-10 coding systems
- Experience in medical billing and coding processes
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and practices
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Ability to work well in a team environment
