Marki Microwave Inc. is Hiring an Equipment Engineering Technician 2 Near Morgan Hill, CA

This role will require access to access information controlled under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR, 15 CFR §§ 730-780),and likely the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR, 22 CFR §§ 120-130), and so applicants for this position must be one of a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or other Protected Individual (as defined under 8 USC § 1324b(a)(3)).

JOB SUMMARY

As an Engineering Test Technician 2 at Marki Microwave you will be part of a highly skilled team developing the next generation of Marki best-in-class RF products. You will be responsible for supporting Engineers with testing and characterization of new products using advanced test techniques. The successful candidate will directly interface and coordinate activities with project, engineering and/or manufacturing personnel. This role is ideal for someone looking to further their technical knowledge and expertise in high frequency RF component engineering through a hands-on approach in a fast-paced, dynamic development environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform set up, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all production equipment including: Ovens, Wire Bonders, Automated handlers, Automation Equipment, Laser marking machines, paint booths, microscopes, handling of chemicals, etc.
  • Track & perform preventative maintenance & calibration schedules for production, reliability, & test equipment. Train technicians on how to perform maintenance.
  • Research & order equipment, tooling, maintenance supplies, replacement parts, production material, & tooling.
  • Coordinate with repairmen and vendors for scheduling maintenance, repairs, and calibration.
  • cross functionally to schedule operator training and execute training in a timely manner
  • train fellow Technicians on new equipment operation, programming, & troubleshooting
  • procedures, troubleshooting guides, and specs for new processes and machinery.
  • 2D and/or 3D CAD to reference drawings/dimensions and create drawings
  • automated equipment for new product lines
  • Engineering staff in production and prototyping of products including running experiments, testing, tuning, proto build, reflow, etc.
  • in facilities’ maintenance to help ensure upkeep of capital equipment for production and R&D
  • RF electrical tests under the guidance of engineering staff
  • with small hand tools, tweezers, and fixtures
  • on advanced automated equipment with basic troubleshooting skills.
  • Microsoft office to track PM schedules, create presentations, document processes, etc.
  • and execute multiple on-going projects on-time.
  • with cross-functional team members and management via written or verbal formats

REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent military training in Electronics with knowledge of RF/Microwave
  • 5 years’ experience testing RF/Microwave products
  • Experience using a microscope and tweezers.
  • Experience trimming PCB with an exacto knife.
  • Experience using and calibrating VNAs.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

  • Consults and collaborates with other departments as needed for clear and detailed understanding of requirements.
  • Accountable for identifying any issues regarding reliability, engineering, and/or design.
  • Accurately characterize new products using multimeters, spectrum analyzers, VNAs, Noise Figure Meters, probe stations, synthesizers, and power meters. Report data to engineers with clear and concise communication.
  • Own the Set up and monitoring of RF power testing and over temperature testing for new products.
  • Generate test data for all datasheet parameters as well as specific customer requested measurements covering DC to 110 GHz.
  • High level of data entry accuracy; effective time management
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload; ability to proactively communicate project status, including roadblocks.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with others, including multidisciplinary staff.
  • Successfully troubleshoot production and prototype failures.
  • Support Application, Design, and Product Engineers with electrical measurements.
  • Maintain R&D test lab to ensure equipment is in calibration and all required equipment is available.
  • Support manufacturing with testing and troubleshooting as needed and if time permits.
  • Other duties as assigned
