Description:

Markon Solutions is creating a team to provide Construction Management support to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) in Washington DC. The team will provide services to support the planning, programming, design and construction of projects at the VAMC. Duties may include:

  • Identifying and/or developing all costs required for entire design programs; review the programmer's costs and provide comments to the Contracting Officer’s Representative; and provide other cost information for programs if design programmers are not available.
  • Support in the development of Concept Plans, Independent Government Cost Estimates, Schedules, and Technical Specifications for projects at various design stages.
  • Develop work product for use in developing quality Design-Bid-Build packages for solicitation.
  • Review cost estimates to ensure that they are accurate and that the projects can be completed within the funds available.
  • Prepare documentation relating to cost estimating for contract project phases.
Job Requirements
  • A degree from an accredited institution of higher learning with a specialty in Estimating or three (3) years of construction estimating work experience and knowledge to compensate for absence of higher education.
  • Professional credential as an Estimator.
  • Ability to understand and master the requirements of the local state and federal jurisdictions and the requirements of each.
  • Previous experience in preparing, analyzing and identifying incongruities and deficiencies in the contractors work in relationship with the baseline schedule of values and monthly pay requests.
  • Identify three projects as examples of work completed that demonstrate a competency to undertake a rigorous program in construction for cost control.
