Lakeland Manufacturing is seeking to fill the position of Operations Manager . This position is responsible for all functions within the daily operation including managing a team, programming, production, quality and shipping.
Responsibilities
•Meet or exceed measured productivity goals/targets/objectives of Returned Merchandise, Late Orders, Safety and Receiving.
•Assign, prioritize and schedule daily department activities for 2 shifts.
Creating production schedules using software, coordinating workflow, and ensuring timely delivery of products to meet customer demands.
•Driving Quality outputs that meet and exceed customer expectations and align comply with Quality Management System requirements.
•Instruct, mentor, coach, discipline and evaluate personnel to achieve positive morale and effectiveness.
•Negotiate with vendors, and outside services to ensure maximum cost savings, effectiveness, and service.
•Ensure scheduled maintenance is performed on all equipment and buildings.
•Ensure all Safety program requirements are exceeded to include monthly inspections, safety contacts, timely accident investigations, JSA's, facility inspections, Safety Committee meetings and training.
•Ensure compliance with inventory procedures and controls.
•Identifying areas for automation to help increase productivity.
•Maintain inventory integrity to eliminate loss or damage.
•Exceed housekeeping requirements through effective organization, equipment maintenance, training, security, and overall cleanliness.
•Ensure that the facility meets all ISO requirements.
•Responsible for OSHA, HazMat, SDS and other governmental compliance requirements.
•Plan and implement systems, projects and procedures utilizing 80/20 tools/documentation to improve warehouse productivity and customer service.
•Maximize internal/external customer service and strategic/tactical improvements to grow the branch.
•Utilize lean concepts to develop and manage continuous improvement including productivity security and 5s initiatives.
Skills
•Proficient with Microsoft Office programs along with ERP/MRP systems
•Strong familiarity with Quality Management Systems.
•Must be customer oriented and familiar with OSHA requirements.
•Knowledge of lean and 5s concepts preferred.
Education/Experience
•5 years' experience machining and programming preferred.
•5 years' supervisory experience required in a manufacturing environment.
•High School diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree a plus but not required.
