Marmon Industrial Energy & Infrastructure (MIEI) works with six specialty wire, cable, and tubing solution manufacturing companies located throughout North America. We have over 100 years of innovative engineered solutions for critical, industrial, and commercial applications.
The Applications Engineer serves as the bridge between technical expertise and practical application, leveraging deep understanding of engineering principles to offer solutions that meet specific customer needs. They collaborate closely with customers, sales teams, and product development to assess requirements, design solutions, and provide technical support. This role extends beyond conventional engineering to include communication and translation of complex technical concepts into understandable terms for diverse audiences.
Market focus: Telcom and wireless communications infrastructure working with carriers, integrators, and designers for copper and fiber cables specifically, Class IV FMPS, power and fiber hybrid and DAS systems.
Essential Duties:

• Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer needs and technical requirements.
• Provide technical expertise and support during pre-sales and post-sales activities, including design and accurate cost estimating.
• Develop and deliver product demonstrations, presentations, and technical proposals to prospective and existing customers.
• Customize and configure our products to meet customer specifications.
• Conduct product testing and validation to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Identify and troubleshoot technical issues, provide timely resolutions and support to customers.
• Serve as a liaison between customers and internal teams, advocating for customer needs and providing feedback for product improvement.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance our product offerings.
• Assist in the development of technical documentation, training materials, and knowledge base articles.

Education and Experience Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in copper and fiber wire and cable for Telcom and wireless infrastructure.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Proven track record of successfully managing customer relationships and delivering high-quality technical solutions.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Travel as needed up to 50%.

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work long hours in a sedentary position working at a computer and performing repetitive motions.
• Ability to move objects and materials of at least 25lbs.
• Ability to collaborate with operations in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE when onsite.
• Frequent Domestic and International Travel

Physical Requirements:

• Able to sit for extended periods of time.
• Able to hear ordinary conversations and phone communications.

Environmental Conditions:

• Air-conditioned and/or heated office setting.
