In 1986 the Long Island Bagel Café founders entered the bagel business through hard work and dedication to years of training under previous “bagelteers” with the opening of their first bagel store in Oceanside, NY. This store was the first in what has now become the Long Island Bagel Café (LIBC) organization. LIBC has since expanded its footprint to 8 additional locations including Baldwin, Bellmore, Glen Cove, Long Beach, Nesconset, Stony Brook, Mineola, and Scarsdale. LIBC has become the leading bagel organization across NY filling the void of great bagels, one town at a time.

We are pleased to offer continued growth and advancement as we currently have openings for General Manager (GM) in our Scarsdale location. Our ideal candidate can run a location as if it were his/her own and will come to the table with prior deli/bagel store experience, be an effective leader, and have a strong desire to grow with our company.

Job Summary

As part of the dynamic leadership team for LIBC, the Assistant Manager and General Manager will work independently to execute and oversee the full operations of their location. As a store manager, you are the leading force in growing store sales, delivering fast and friendly service to the customer base, and ensuring all products are to quality standards all while promoting a clean, safe store environment for employees and customers. Our ideal candidate will be career-minded and can lead this location with a take-ownership mentality.

Responsibilities

Facilitate the daily operations of the location

Oversee all employees, including hiring, training, scheduling, and general supervision

Manage purchase orders and all food-related functions

Maintain stock and inventory

Provide bookkeeping records and data on sales

Ensure product quality in keeping with company standards

Manage all customer relations with the ability to lead a team that consistently provides fast and outstanding service.

Enforce and monitor health, safety, and sanitation standards in all areas

Qualifications:

Previous experience in front-of-the-house management in a Bagel Café/Delicatessen

Superior customer service abilities

Self-disciplined, outgoing demeanor

Excellent leadership skills

Proven written and verbal communication skills with the ability to read, analyze, create, and interpret general business memos and documents.

Knowledge of food safety, food prep, and overall management skills

Ability to work 55-65 hours per week.

Compensation:

Industry-leading annual base salary of $100,000, plus profit-sharing
