Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Prospect for New Business: Use your creativity and initiative to find new clients through internet research, cold calling, and reconnecting with past clients. Attend industry events and programs to expand your network and uncover new opportunities.
  • Build and Maintain Strong Client Relationships: Develop lasting relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and their expectations exceeded.
  • Respond Promptly to Inquiries: Act quickly on incoming group and catering business opportunities to secure new clients.
  • Book Business Within Hotel Parameters: Ensure all bookings align with our hotel’s standards and policies.
  • Conduct Engaging Site Inspections and Presentations: Showcase our hotel’s facilities through in-person and virtual tours, leaving a lasting impression on potential clients.
  • Create and Manage Contracts: Handle all necessary booking documentation, track activities, and maintain detailed client account files.
  • Detail Event Specifications: Work closely with clients to plan every aspect of their event, including food & beverage, setup, and audio-visual needs. Ask the right questions and offer suggestions to ensure everything runs smoothly.
  • Communicate Client Needs: Develop comprehensive group resumes and coordinate with all hotel departments to ensure seamless execution of events. Follow up to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Negotiate and Close Deals: Utilize your negotiation skills and creative selling abilities to secure business and finalize contracts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in catering sales or event management within a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing revenue.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with catering sales software.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player. Knowledge of lighting and sound equipment and usage. Ability to utilize a moderately complex computer system. Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts. Able to lift, grasp, carry and/or push up to 50 pounds. Ability to work flexible schedule, as well as being able to work shift standing on feet and walking throughout hotel or sitting for long periods of time.

Safety & Security:

The safety and security of our guests and associates is of utmost importance to Crescent. Every Crescent associate should adhere to the hotel security policies and procedures,

particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns.
