Job DescriptionMarron Lawyers, a Long Beach based business litigation firm seeks a Legal Billing Clerk/Administrative Assistant. The candidate would be working in a demanding, but rewarding environment, with a strong group of collegial co-workers. This position offers opportunities to grow into a managerial position.
Requirements: Must have experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Quickbooks. It would also be helpful if the applicant is familiar with TimeSlips or equivalent legal billing software, including LEDES 1998B format billing; client trust accounting; front office experience including mail distribution, facilities oversight, vendor contact. Executive assistance including calendaring and payables experience using Quickbooks.
About the Firm: The Firm was established in 1995 and has 10 attorneys. The Firm is focused on business/commercial litigation and labor/employment defense and acts as general and litigation counsel to a number of medium to large sized companies in the transportation industry. We also represent one of the major shipping ports in Southern California. The practice is statewide and national with an equal mix between state and federal court.
Job Description: Assistance to Firm Administrator with: Preparation of monthly invoices including posting of costs; running reports; inputting edits to invoices; collections follow-up and report preparation; bookkeeping; assistance with preparation of financial statements; tracking financial transactions; assist with monitoring/managing business undertakings the Firm has initiated; payables; assisting the Managing Partner and senior attorneys with calendar management; daily mail distribution; bank deposits; incoming telephones; first point of contact with building management and vendors as issues arise. May be trained as backup for payroll. Reports to Managing Partner, Supervising Paralegal and Firm Administrator.
