Job Description:Associate Category Manager- Shopper & AnalyticsBentonville, ARHybrid The Associate Category Manager, Shopper & Analytics serves as a trusted partner to Walmart and is responsible for developing category leadership solutions for Walmart for the confectionery businesses including Chocolate, Fruity Confections, Gum, and Mints. As the Associate Category Manager- Shopper & Analytics, you’ll be the leader in diving into the “what” through data analytics and the “why” utilizing panel & shopper research. You’ll be responsible for taking the “what” and “why” to create shopper & category insights and strategies that drive growth for the Confectionery category for Walmart & Sam’s Club. You’ll work closely with internal partners like consumer insights, category strategy, and advanced analytics as you build category growth strategies for Walmart.
What are we looking for?
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3 Years Proven CPG experience in Category Management, Shopper Insights, or Sales- preferably on Walmart or Sam's Club
  • Ability to deliver actionable insights and category growth recommendations based on interpreting channel, shopper, customer, and category insights, as well as primary and secondary research.
  • Skilled in Walmart Luminate and Syndicated & Panel Data partners (EX: Nielsen, Numerator)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to analyze large sets of data
  • Comfortable using business intelligence or data visualization systems (EX: PowerBI, MicroStrategy, Tableau, Domo, Looker, etc.)
  • Project Management Skills- oversee category analytics and shopper insights projects from start to finish- set scope, identify right business partners or datasets, analyze data or research, draw actionable recommendations, and communicate in a concise format.
  • Strong Story Telling & Presentation Skills
  • Willingness to travel (up to 10% of time)
Nice To Have
  • MBA or other relevant advanced degree
  • Experience with JDA
  • Customer facing experience, particularly with Walmart and/or Sam's.
  • Business analysis experience across multiple functions (CMI, Sales, Supply Chain, Marketing) and/ or channels
What would be your key responsibilities?
  • Create and plan category leadership strategies that deliver profitable sales growth for Walmart & improve the shopper experience. These Omni solutions should include shopper and category insights across products/ assortment, placement, merchandising, pricing, and promotions and align to Category Vision.
  • Project Management and Results tracking on In-Store & Digital Merchandising Strategies
  • Utilize Luminate & Digital data analytics to make data-driven recommendations on how to improve and/or optimize the shopping and navigation experience.
  • Support Internal Stakeholders to Identify and Solve for Key Opportunities Through Regular and Ad Hoc Analytics/Story Telling (i.e. Line Reviews, Cat Reviews, Through the Line Initiatives, In-store POG)
  • Identify analytics and research opportunities on the Walmart & Sam’s Club team and work with internal counterparts like advanced analytics, category strategy, and consumer insights to close any analytical or research gaps or needs.
  • Be the leader in bringing insights and analytics that focus on future category growth or expansion opportunities.
