A PCT observes application of the Nursing Process and performs non-invasive nursing activities under the direction of the Registered Nurse in order to prepare for a staff RN role.

- Participates in shift report and hand-off of communication
- Assists RN with procedures such as wound care and dressing changes
- Observes RN develop the patient’s care plan
- Learns to transcribe physician orders
