Job Details

Position Summary:

MarshBerry is currently seeking a Data Visualization Specialist. The position may be located in one of MarshBerry’s office locations. The Data Visualization Specialist will design various analytical reports and deliver to interested parties while working with business users, collecting their requests, and then updating the set of existing BI reports to accommodate business needs; establish standards and common reporting terminology and to help align existing and future reporting requests to such standards. This individual will interact with data warehouse architects whenever data schemas need redesigning to accommodate new reporting requirements while understanding, translating, and presenting business data through informative PowerBI visuals and reports; design efficient data models to transform raw data into meaningful insights. Additionally, this individual will develop interactive visual reports, dashboards, charts, and measures and KPI scorecards using Microsoft Power BI desktop; connect to various data sources, import, transform data and build PowerBI reporting models; analyze, design, deploy, troubleshoot, and support all aspects relating to refresh schedules, data, reports and access for Power BI reports and dashboards. This position will also require programming experience, and the ability to manipulate, join, and review data within DataBricks using Spark.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to design, build, and deploy dashboards in Power BI using large data sets and multiple source systems.
  • Ability to manipulate data within Databricks (Pyspark)
  • Data modeling with Power BI.
  • Ability to select and develop the best visualization for a particular dataset.
  • Create reports, projections, models, and presentations.
  • Ability to communicate technical results to nontechnical people.
  • Maintain and support existing Power BI dashboards, reports, and dataflows.
  • Evaluate and improve existing Power BI systems and governance process.
  • Serve as point-person for sales reporting and analysis of key business metrics.
  • Build interactive sales tools for the sales team to self-serve sales intelligence.
  • Help to design and support the sales forecasting process, collaborating with Finance, Product, Sales, Marketing and all LOB teams to ensure systems are in place to automate the process and build tools (Power BI).
  • Be the project lead as sales adds additional tools and identifies opportunities for growth.
  • Ensure that our proprietary data standards and processes are clearly documented and accessible in a central knowledge base or resource center. Updates and changes should also be communicated clearly to ensure smooth transitions and operate more efficiently.
  • Provide regular reporting to the company on the business results and key drivers of metrics for the business. Provides accurate, real-time visibility of team performance.
  • Drive reporting, analysis, and forecasting to help the Financial Advisory team deliver on client projects and demonstrate MarshBerry capability and expertise.
  • Cultivates and maintains effective relationships with potential internal/external clients, partners and stakeholders that can directly or indirectly lead to revenue generation for all MarshBerry services.

Selection Criteria

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics or related program required.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on Power BI experience.
  • Proficiency with DAX expressions and M language.
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and data lake creation.
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.
  • Experience with creating advanced user experience using Microsoft 365 products. With special emphasis on skills related to building user friendly environments in SharePoint with Power BI integration.
  • Experience with SQL, Microsoft Power Apps, or graphic design a plus.

Other:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to communicate these findings to leadership.
  • Preferred experience with platforms including Power Apps, Power Automate, Databricks and Azure Data Lake Storage.
  • Data obsession - you are at home with sales and marketing data, with a deep understanding of and ability to articulate trends in revenue and churn.
  • Solution builder: can build repeatable processes and structures where none (or little) previously existed. Can document the above.
  • Proven experience working in teams to achieve/exceed unit goals and objectives.
  • Excellent project management, analytical, organizational and problem-solving abilities. Also, apply in depth understanding of financial concepts to practical business problems.
  • Strong communication skills: both written and verbal with demonstrated creativity with regard to work. Ability to prepare and present material for group training and external branding presentations.
