DescriptionPURPOSE OF YOUR JOB DESCRIPTION: The Staffing Coordinator is responsible to perform the day-to-day activities of the nursing scheduling department in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and union contract governing our facility and as may be directed by the Director of Nursing. Coordinates staffing for all nursing department positions and shifts to provide appropriate and safe staffing. Delegation Of AuthorityReports to Nursing Supervisor. Performance Requirement / Duties And ResponsibilitiesPrepare work schedule for Nursing Department personnel and post per facility policy and union contract Review all requests for days off, personal days, holidays and vacations and approve per the needs of the Home, facility policy and union contract Review time requests with Nursing Supervisor as appropriate Inform Nursing Department personnel of request approvals/denials in a timely manner per facility policy/contract Maintain accurate vacation buy back records Prepare lists of available shifts and post in a timely manner, check daily or as appropriate Approve extra time/overtime based on seniority, facility, and union contract Communicates closely with Nurse Supervisor, employees, union delegates, Nurse Director to make effective staffing decisions Notify per diem staff of available shifts as appropriate and supervise per diem employee pool Prepare and maintain accurate daily staffing sheets including unit, shifts, and staff that are scheduled to work Prepare daily DPH required Nurse and CNA staffing level sheets Maintain accurate annual attendance records and prepare documentation for bonus day compensation Monitor attendance records monthly and prepare disciplinary actions as appropriate Monitor punctuality and prepare disciplinary actions as appropriate Notify Nursing Supervisor of any late calls outs or NCNS Maintain records and prepare documentation for holiday pay cut Maintain accurate record of personal days taken Update daily and monthly mandation list, and copy monthly for union/management meeting Notify payroll on Wednesday with list of night shift staff for paychecks Update CNA/Nurse call sheets and make copies Ensure that all new employee orientation schedules are on staffing sheet Maintain updated employee phone list QualificationsEEO StatementQualifications
Highschool diploma or equivalent education
Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English
Experience
Computer skills
Previous scheduling experience preferred but not required
