Description

Primary Functions: Primary responsibility for running a branch Teller Line (including operations and teller supervision.) In the absence of the Branch Manager and the Assistant Branch Manager, may manage all aspects of branch operations. Provide information to customers and staff and resolve problems within the branch.

Primary Activities

  • Demonstrate skills and behaviors necessary to achieve growth of deposit solutions, referrals to business partners and sharing successes in an effort to build customer relationships.
  • Uncover customer needs and create interest in referrals for the appropriate solutions and services.
  • Observe and evaluate employee performance, focusing on coaching tellers to success in their principle responsibilities.
  • Provide operational and supervisory support to the teller line.
  • Provide ongoing guidance and support to tellers in order to maintain a consistently superior level of customer service.
  • Answer customer questions and direct customers to appropriate department of the Bank when necessary.
  • Assist Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager with operational duties of the branch.
  • Manage branch in Branch Managers and Assistant Branch Managers absence.
  • Maintain security controls. Answer alarm calls as necessary.
  • Maintain proficiency as a Teller and Customer Service Representative. Available to perform these duties as needed.
  • Train new tellers as necessary.
  • Perform all aspects of teller transactions including checking & savings transactions, loan payments, account inquiries; sell travelers checks, treasurers checks, and money orders.
  • Take computer totals, run checks, and balance daily work. Prove cash drawer at closing.
  • Perform transactions in accordance with bank policies.
  • Answer customer questions or direct customer to supervisor when answer is unknown.
  • Provide professional customer service to new and existing customers and co-workers.
  • Open new deposit accounts, IRAs, certificates of deposit and money market accounts.
  • Provide customers with information on all aspects of deposit accounts and bank services including rates, service charges, restrictions and other relevant account information.
  • May perform the duties of the Safe Deposit Box attendant.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for teller staff.

Qualifications


Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma.
  • 1 3 years banking experience in a branch setting.
  • Proficient knowledge and experience in all branch functions.
  • Ability to promote, sustain and drive a deposit growth culture in the assigned branch.
  • Knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership and interpersonal skills. Proficient computer knowledge & ability (Windows, Word, Excel).
  • Excellent knowledge of current Bank policies and procedures.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with no supervision while performing duties.

Physical & Environmental Factors

  • Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift or carry 5 pound bags of coin.
  • Work is normally performed in an office environment.
  • May operate office equipment necessary to perform job function
