POSITION SUMMARY

The position is responsible the timely and accurate processing and auditing of payroll as scheduled ensuring that all policies and applicable laws are ensured.

Maintains a thorough understanding of all payroll functions company policies and procedures, federal and state wage an hour law, timekeeping and information systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Continuously reviews payroll records ensuring compliance with California's labor policies, procedures as well as regulations.
  • Develops various payroll audit reports to identify discrepancies and adjustments.
  • Heavy reporting and analytical duties to various stakeholders.
  • Clarifies and resolves payroll time inconsistencies with management and staff as needed.
  • Audits and Monitors overtime, shift differential, and other special adjustments included in the payroll records
  • Prepare account reconciliations for various payroll related general ledger accounts and corrects discrepancies.
  • Conducts manager training of the Kronos timekeeping system.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of employee payroll information.
  • Participates in appropriate Hospital committees and task forces.
  • Interprets applies and explains Hospital policies, and state and federal laws and regulations to staff and management
  • Serves as liaison with Hospital's departments regarding payroll-related issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

A. Education

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

B. Qualifications / Experience

  • Five (5) years previous payroll processing experience.
  • Hospital experience with payroll processing preferred.

C. Special Skills / Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of Kronos Payroll systems, HR, Timekeeper and Scheduler Modules.
  • Strong oral and written skills.
  • Experience with hospital pay codes preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of employer wage and payroll laws
