Martin/Martin, Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer in Training (EIT) to join our Structural Engineering Group at our Kansas City, MO office. This role offers fantastic opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects in a number of markets including sports facilities, entertainment venues, healthcare facilities, civic buildings, and commercial properties. You'll gain valuable experience in both new building structural design and existing building investigations and retrofits working with a variety of structural materials.

In this role, you will:

Engineering Calculations and Drawing Development: 

• Utilize computer design and graphics software to complete project construction documents.

Building and Material Codes: 

• Study and apply building codes, material codes, and jurisdictional requirements to complete project design calculations under the supervision of the Project Manager.

Construction Administration: 

• Assist the Project Manager with construction administration tasks, including checking submittals, responding to RFIs, and conducting field observations.

Client and Team Coordination: 

• Communicate and coordinate project designs with clients, other team consultants, and contractors.

Requirements

Required Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an engineering curriculum in Architectural, Civil, Structural, or related engineering field.
• Has passed FE Examination
• 0-4 years’ experience

Desired Qualifications: 

• Master's degree in engineering from an engineering curriculum in Architectural, Civil, Structural, or related engineering field.
• Bachelor’s degree received from an institution with ABET accreditation in field of study.
• GPA of 3.5 or higher
• Working knowledge of building and material design codes
• Experience using computer design and graphics software for building structural design and documentation (AutoDesk REVIT, Rhino, RAM, SAP, ETABS, RISA, etc.)
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills with a commitment to client service and a team-based approach
• Construction field experience 
• Experience programming in Grasshopper, Python, Dynamo, SQL, C#, C , VBA
