ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Applicants must be a current employee in good standing with Mary Cariola
Demonstrates sensitivity and the respect for the cultural diversity of others
Follow the responsibilities, as necessary, of a mandated reporter
An accounting position that manages daily financial and accounting tasks
Maintains the accuracy and ongoing operation of the general ledger
Assists in preparation of year-end audit schedules
Generates all reports and billings needed for IDEA funding.
Prepares Representative Payee reports
Assists in preparation of Consolidated Fiscal Report, annual financial statements and 990.
Assists Controller with detailed actual to budget review at month end, prepares worksheets for review and distribution
Maintain detail schedules, prepare allocations and reconcile to general ledger as necessary for:
Prepare reconciliation of checking accounts
Maintain schedule of evaluation time by employee
Reconcile Community Services consumers’ checking and petty cash accounts.
Manages Bus Pass system for employees collaborating with Rochester Transit Department
Other duties may be assigned as needed by the Controller
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
An Associate’s degree in Accounting or a 4 Year Business degree with a minimum (1) year related accounting experience is required. Familiarity with not-for-profit accounting desirable.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
Proficient in Excel, Word and ability to work with organizations financial system. Experience with Microsoft Great Plains is helpful but will train.
