Reports To: Site Director
Work Days: Monday through Friday / Saturday and Sunday as needed
Work Hours: 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM / Hour may vary as needed
Position SummaryEnsures general maintenance of equipment, facility, and grounds in accordance with safety and sanitation requirements. Monitors and transports stock and supplies under immediate supervision of the Site Director.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesCleaning and Maintenance:
- Maintains a clean and sanitary environment in all facilities.
- Maintains, orders, and stores proper supplies and disperses such to the appropriate locations.
- Perform minor repair work and/or inspection of physical plant and program equipment such as air conditioning filters, exit lights.
- Displays a positive and supportive attitude with parents, children, and other adults with whom the contract is made.
- Communicate with outside contractors to ensure the maintenance of facilities.
- Based on the employee’s schedule, secures all premises before or after program hours.
- Considerable knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and equipment utilized.
- Responsible for seasonal and occasional tasks as designated, such as washing cots, windows, grills, snow removal, and other assigned tasks.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs for a safe environment.
- Track problems.
- Regularly monitor and document facility needs.
- Coordinate orders and deliveries with the site director
- Communicate with the Site Director about equipment concerns and when new supplies need to be ordered.
- Maintains communication with co-workers.
- Maintains communication with the Site Director for special events such as the End of the Year Celebration.
- Ability to guide and direct the work of less experienced employees if applicable.
- Work closely with the Site Director and other content area specialists to ensure that contract obligations and licensing standards are met.
- Other Duties As Assigned**
- Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- AND 1 year related experience and/or training.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with staff, consultants, and regulatory/funding representatives in a team-oriented environment.
- Capacity to assume responsibility for own professional development.
- Detail-oriented, logical, and methodological approach to problem-solving.
- Flexible, with the ability to work in a highly demanding, stressful environment.
- Ability to cooperate successfully as a member of a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others, including giving and receiving feedback on the quality of services.
- Meet any specific content area requirements.
- Ability to read and speak English.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Bilingual-Spanish preferred.
