An exciting opportunity to join one of the Northwest's Premier wineries. We are looking to add a highly motivated Tasting Room Assistant Manager to our talented team at our Woodinville Tasting Room & Bistro. Successful candidates will provide exceptional service in supporting our efficiently run high-volume culinary operation ensuring our guests receive the best food quality possible as part of an immersive wine-tasting experience. This position offers the opportunity for growth and will begin as full-time.
Job Description:
The Assistant Tasting Room Manager is responsible for assisting the Tasting Room Manager in the leadership and mentoring of the
tasting room team to ensure a welcoming atmosphere and unique tasting experience for all employees and guests. This position
presents a unique opportunity for an individual with well-rounded experience in the Winery and Hospitality industry, who is diversly
cross-trained in all aspects of tasting room service and operations; and consists of distinct areas of responsibility including assisting
the Tasting Room Manager with day-to-day operations, administrative responsibilities, and coordinating events.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Assisting the Tasting Room Manager with providing daily leadership, support, and guidance for the tasting room team.
  • Ensuring that daily experiences are presented properly to best represent the brand.
  • Driving sales and club acquisition results within all experiences and understanding and identifying with sales reporting.
  • Assembling a high-performing staff and providing the training and motivation required to drive success.
  • Leading by example, enforcing company standards, and holding staff accountable to those standards, including oneself.
  • Collaborating and working well within the overall tasting room management teams.
  • Working collaboratively, to develop and build partnerships within the company, including Accounting, Administration, Marketing, Wine Club, and Winemaking/Production.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Friendly, positive, and professional disposition when dealing with guests, vendors, and team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, follow-up, and work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
  • Proactive and thorough in completing existing tasks and pursuing new assignments.
  • Identifying successful strategies; developing and implementing tactical plans in order to impact change when needed.
  • Maintaining inventory of tasting room wine, retail merchandise, and supplies; ensuring product quality and availability; regular reporting of order needs to Purchasing/Inventory specialist for fulfillment.
  • Performing regular audits of retail and supply inventory.
  • Maintaining tasting room vault supply, balancing cash, reconciling sales, and making bank deposits.
  • Working closely with the TR manager to lead staff, acting as manager-on-duty when the Tasting Room Manager is not present.
  • Handling general oversight and direction of team members and assisting the manager with scheduling.
  • Assisting with interviewing job candidates, hiring decisions, and coaching/disciplinary actions.
  • Performing premises opening and closing procedures.
  • Enter relevant data for tasting room sign-ups when necessary.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Requirements, Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hospitality sales experience
  • 1 year of supervisory and sales experience
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated people and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and possess the desire for self-development.
  • Be dedicated to customer satisfaction and great customer experience.
  • Must be available to work weekends, special events and select holidays.
  • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and adherence to all safety regulations and operating procedures.
  • Proficiency with computer systems, software, and reports to include: MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and POS.
  • Always maintain a professional appearance by following the company dress code and appearance standards.
  • Enthusiasm for wine and interest in expanding expertise.
  • Be dedicated to customer satisfaction and great customer experience.
Physical Requirements:
  • Repetitive reaching, grasping, bending, twisting, and lifting.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lb. without concern: Frequently.
  • Able to stand and walk for long period of time: Frequently.
  • Able to push/pull, up to 50 lb. without concern: Often.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time without concern.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting in the performance of various tasks without concern.
