Description

 The Vice President of Residential Operations is responsible for the ongoing development and operation of all residential treatment programs. In accordance with the mission of Maryhurst and the direction of the President/CEO. This position provides overall leadership and direction to all programs to ensure that best practices are developed, refined, evaluated, and maintained. The Vice President assists the COO and the Chief Strategy Team (CST) in assuring that the agency develops ongoing strategies that secure the long-term financial viability of the agency, and that are consistent with the mission and core values of Maryhurst. The Vice President is responsible for informing the COO and CST of significant events/situations and current program operations. The Vice President of Residential Operations will represent Maryhurst at external meetings and functions as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Supports growth and professional development of those supervised through the use of the Employee Development cycle process including consistent coaching and direct feedback
  •  Provides equitable and effective distribution of job tasks
  •  Proactively works to develop effective operational teams
  • Ensures that program cultures meet or exceed the standards of a trauma-informed operation
  • Provides leadership, supervision, and evaluation for program management staff to enable and support programs to perform to goals and develop skills necessary to meet and exceed expectations
  •  Identifies program needs and assists in the development of strategies to increase productivity and quality of clinical services
  • Reports on and represents operations at meetings of the Board of Directors when requested by the President/CEO
  • Administration
  • Maintains current programs in accordance with the agency mission, policies, and procedures that support and protect the needs of children in care
  • Develops, refines, evaluates, and maintains policies and procedures (in cooperation with the Vice President of Agency Quality and Performance in accordance with regulatory and accreditation standards
  • Collaborates with senior leadership and the training team to plan and implement training and professional development plans to enhance the skills of staff to meet and exceed program goals
  • Develop, implement, and oversee plans that regularly evaluate every program area in comparison with best practices
  • Monitors and collaborates with the Chief Strategy and Finance teams in the development of annual operating budget and program income
  • Actively monitors and current budget and collaborates with leadership and finance teams to make needed adjustments
  • Identifies community, state, and national trends involving service delivery and new revenue streams

Requirements

Job Requirements

  •  A bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field from a school that is accredited by an accrediting body of the Council on Higher Education Accreditation.
  •  A minimum of five years’ experience in the administration of a behavioral health services organization serving the needs of youth.
  •  A minimum of five years’ experience in staff supervision is required, to include at a minimum: interviewing/hiring, task delegation, and performance evaluation activities.
  • An understanding of the integration of various roles, skills, and competencies needed in serving the needs of youth.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills and abilities.
  • Strategic and fiscal planning skills and abilities.
  •  Superior communication and public speaking skills.
  • The ability to understand and interpret financial reports and an understanding of cost accounting procedures and practices
  •  An understanding of the integration of various roles, skills, and competencies needed to serve youth in care
  • Strategic fiscal planning skills and abilities
  • Must possess exceptional time management skills
  • Must be available for local, state, and national travel as required
