Maryland Food Bank is Hiring a Partner Logistics Coordinator Near Baltimore, MD

The Maryland Food Bank (MFB) is a nonprofit hunger-relief organization dedicated to feeding people, strengthening communities, and ending hunger for more Marylanders by partnering with local organizations from the western mountains to the Eastern Shore. The food bank’s statewide network of food assistance brings enough resources together to provide nearly 114,000 meals every day (more than 41 million meals annually) to hungry children, seniors, veterans, and hard-working families, meeting the immediate needs of hungry Marylanders while simultaneously working to create pathways out of hunger. Overall purpose of the position: In this role, the employee will be responsible for processing all partner orders including, but not limited to, Marketplace pick-ups, agency deliveries, and product allocations. Collaborate with Operations; Warehouse and Transportation, as well as, Community Programs and Neighbor Engagement teams to proactively support the strategic and equitable distribution of food. The employee will also move between activities intended to help partner services; agency account management and financial grants accounting, logistical programming through Pantry-on-the-Go (POTG), Holiday Meals and Employee Farmer’s Market order creation, online order processing, and systems troubleshooting.
Education: At least three (3) years of experience in a customer service-related role. An associate degree is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Work Experience: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Goal-oriented with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously. Strong organizational skills. Experience in project management from planning to executing, tracking, following up on issues, and reporting. Excellent interpersonal, networking, and problem-solving skills. Strong customer service focus. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide administrative/partner service support, and maintain departmental files according to MFB and Feeding America documentation guidelines. Work in partnership with Operations and Programs Departments, in reaching departmental goals for capacity building: product inventory movement and distribution. Offer technical assistance to partner agencies; including Marketplace activities, systems support, and troubleshooting (Agency Express, Appointment ). Assist with tracking program-related grants and maintaining partner account accuracy including accounts receivable and monitoring aged account balances.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Working Conditions: The employee will carry out most job duties within a professional office environment with little fluctuation in temperature and minimal noise. At times, it will be required that the employee work within a warehouse environment with fluctuations in temperature and higher noise levels due to increased activity.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is required to regularly stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Non-Essential Functions
  • Represents the Maryland Food Bank at meetings and other related functions, as necessary.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of programming policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as requested.
